What is Odor-Removing Masterbatch?

One of the greatest challenges in achieving sustainability and circular economy goals in the plastics industry is the unwanted odours emerging in recycled polymers (PCR/PIR). Our odour absorber masterbatch series, developed in Erk-Han R&D laboratories, offers a solution to this problem beyond traditional masking methods with advanced chemical neutralization technology. Our special formulations chemically trap and neutralize volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and sulfur, amine, or aldehyde-based molecules that cause odour within the polymer matrix during the recycling process.

Thanks to this innovative technology, which allows you to increase your recycled plastic usage rate especially in automotive interior trim parts, indoor packaging, and white goods production, we guarantee an odourless, fresh, and high-quality consumer experience in your final products.

Recommended Dosage

  • In recycled (PCR/PIR) polymers with light odour: 0.5% - 1.0%
  • In recycled materials with medium and intense odour: 1.5% - 2.5%
  • In automotive interior trim and critical parts with high odour sensitivity: 2.0% - 3.0%
